Competition for digital transformation practices among students is a key deliverable of the project. This deliverable is a source for the stimulation of digital transformation practices among students in the domain of mechanical and manufacturing. Each beneficiary institute in Malaysia and Pakistan was responsible for conducting these competitions in their HEIs. The details of the competition in each HEI are in next paragraph.
UNIMAP organized the event from 26th to 28th April 2024 with their existing series of competitions Perlis International Engineering Invention & Innovation Exhibition (Pi-Envex) 2024. 38 teams participated from different higher education institutions in the projects related to AI, IoT, and Smart Manufacturing. NEDUET organized the event on 15th May 2024 in collaboration with the ASHRAE Pakistan Chapter. 16 teams participated and competed in domains of Artificial Intelligence, Smart Manufacturing, and Internet of Things (IoT). UETTÂ organized the event on 28th May 2024 and 22 teams participated while UMPSA organized the event from 7th June to 14th June 2024 and 30 teams participated.
Guidelines for the competitions were established prior the competition so that every HEI can hold the competition at the same level of competence. The rubric-based evaluation was carried out by the judges/evaluators. The final scores of the teams were the average of at least two judges.
Honorable chief guests were invited to appreciate the efforts made by the students in each HEI. Participants/audience of the competition were mainly undergraduate students. The competition provided a platform for effective interaction and collaboration between the audience and participating teams, yielding a productive and enriching experience.
